<title>Exploring Cyber Crime in Bangladesh: Realities and Challenges</title>
<link>http://suspace.su.edu.bd/handle/123456789/2900</link>
<description>Exploring Cyber Crime in Bangladesh: Realities and Challenges
Hussain, Md. Sarwar
People are now able to live in a world without borders and without boundaries known as the &#13;
cyber world because to the development of internet technology and the widespread use of ICT &#13;
tools in everyday activities. Computers are being used illegally nowadays for things like &#13;
espionage via email, credit card fraud, spam, software piracy, and other things that breach our &#13;
privacy and are offensive to the senses. The main goals of this thesis are to understand the &#13;
fundamentals of cybercrime and the causes of it, to analyze the various sections of the ICT Act, &#13;
2006 that deal with computer and computer-related crimes, to determine whether the police's &#13;
authority to make arrests without a warrant is reasonable under this Act, and other related &#13;
goals.The ICT Act of 2006 does not clearly define or describe cyber offenses, police can &#13;
unlawfully detain people without a warrant, there are only eight cyber tribunals established, so &#13;
they are unable to adequately serve the needs of the victims, the police are not properly trained, &#13;
and there is no digital forensic laboratory, among other issues that have been brought to light by &#13;
this thesis.The ICT Act's provisions relating to section 57 should be changed, and the &#13;
government should create a separate ministry for this purpose. Additionally, a well-trained cyber &#13;
police force is necessary to catch cybercriminals, as are sufficient cyber tribunals and one cyber &#13;
appellate tribunal. The police power of arrest should also be eliminated by amending the ICT &#13;
Act, and minor and major offences should be identified.

<title>Barriers for Ensuring Justice for Rape Victims: Bangladesh Perspective”</title>
<link>http://suspace.su.edu.bd/handle/123456789/2899</link>
<description>Barriers for Ensuring Justice for Rape Victims: Bangladesh Perspective”
Ahmmed, Kowsar
Rape Victims is an emerging issue now a day which denotes gender discrimination and &#13;
human rights violation of women. Many women in Bangladesh are forced to deal with &#13;
harassment and un-warranted attention, just because they are women. Women are &#13;
vulnerable to the harassment as they lack in power and self-confidence, and are socialized &#13;
that they are to suffer in silence. This research is concerning the laws of Rape Victims in &#13;
different countries including Bangladesh. The main purpose of it is to show the extend of &#13;
legal measures available on Rape Victims in the country and the initiatives taken by the &#13;
Government to combat it.  In this research, an overview has been given on what we &#13;
understand by Rape Victims and its effect, the international laws on Rape Victims, &#13;
Bangladesh laws on Rape Victims and the opinions expressed by the Special Rapporteur &#13;
on violence against women. By amending existing laws with the effective measures from &#13;
international laws regarding Rape Victims and effectively implement the provisions &#13;
relating to it in every sphere of our social and economic life, then it is possible to prevent &#13;
Rape Victims in our country as well as in the world.

<title>Inclusion of Legal Education in the Secondary Education System: A Strategy to Reduce Crime in Bangladesh’</title>
<link>http://suspace.su.edu.bd/handle/123456789/2898</link>
<description>Inclusion of Legal Education in the Secondary Education System: A Strategy to Reduce Crime in Bangladesh’
Bably, Sanjida Akhter
This thesis focuses on the importance of including legal education in the secondary &#13;
school curriculum of Bangladesh to increase legal awareness and reduce crime among &#13;
young people. The study is based on the well-known legal principle ―Ignorantia juris &#13;
non excusat‖, which means ―ignorance of the law is no excuse.‖ This highlights the &#13;
need for students to know their legal rights and duties from an early age. &#13;
In Bangladesh, legal education is only available at the university level, which leaves &#13;
most secondary-level students unaware of basic laws and rights. As the future citizens &#13;
of the country, it is important that students understand the legal system, their &#13;
constitutional rights, and how to deal with legal issues in daily life. This study &#13;
explores how introducing legal education at the school level can help develop &#13;
responsible, law-abiding, and aware citizens. &#13;
To conduct this research, data were collected from three secondary schools in Dhaka &#13;
through questionnaires and interviews with students, teachers, guardians, and legal &#13;
experts. The results show that nearly 80% of students have very little understanding of &#13;
the law. Most of them only recognize major crimes like murder or theft but cannot &#13;
clearly define legal terms or know where to seek legal help. The majority of teachers &#13;
and guardians support the idea of including law education in schools. In particular, &#13;
73% of guardians, 90% of teachers, and 100% of legal experts agreed that law should &#13;
be part of the secondary school curriculum. &#13;
The research also found that students are interested in learning practical knowledge &#13;
that can help them in real life. If they are taught about legal matters early, it could &#13;
prevent them from getting involved in illegal activities and also help them to stand up &#13;
against injustice. Overall, this thesis shows that adding legal education at the &#13;
secondary level can create a generation that is more aware, responsible, and better &#13;
prepared to contribute to the country's legal and civic development.

<title>Inclusion of Legal Education in the Secondary Education System: A Strategy to Reduce Crime in Bangladesh</title>

<description>Inclusion of Legal Education in the Secondary Education System: A Strategy to Reduce Crime in Bangladesh
Sathi, Nurunnahar
This research explores the inclusion of legal education in the secondary education system of &#13;
Bangladesh as a preventive strategy to reduce crime by nurturing legally aware and socially &#13;
responsible citizens. Adopting a mixed-method approach, data was collected through surveys &#13;
from secondary school students in Dhaka and interviews with teachers and legal experts. The &#13;
findings indicate a significant lack of awareness among students regarding basic legal rights, &#13;
criminal consequences, and civic duties. Stakeholders showed strong support for introducing &#13;
legal education, recognizing its potential to foster ethical values, critical thinking, and resistance &#13;
to negative peer influence. Drawing inspiration from countries like the UK, Australia, and China, &#13;
where legal education is embedded in school curricula, the study recommends integrating age&#13;
appropriate legal content, teacher training, interactive workshops, and visual tools for effective &#13;
implementation. Unlike approaches that focus solely on juvenile crime, this research emphasizes &#13;
early legal empowerment as a long-term solution. It  concludes that legal education at the &#13;
secondary level is crucial not only for academic enrichment, but also for building a safer, law&#13;
abiding society. Immediate policy intervention and collaboration between the education and legal &#13;
sectors are essential for translating this vision into reality.
