In this modern world, the dependence on electricity is so much that it has become a part and&#13;
parcel of our life. The development of any country of the world is based on electricity and its&#13;
proper generation, transmission and distribution. For the proper utilization, it is required to&#13;
transmit and distribute the generating electrical power through the proper way'&#13;
For proper power generation, we have to consider the selection of power station according to the&#13;
site selection of the different power station and their advantage and disadvantage'&#13;
In this thesis work, we have discussed about different types of power station' their merits &amp;&#13;
demerits, power generation in Bangladesh, power demand, installed capacity deficiency of power'&#13;
power plant under construction.&#13;
We have also discussed about the transmission and distribution system. We have included&#13;
mechanical design of transmission system, electrical design of transmission system' different&#13;
types of transmission loss, remedy of loss. For distribution system, we have included the bhurulia&#13;
distribution sub-station.&#13;
we think that, this study will be very helpful for better understanding about generation and&#13;
ffansmission system of Bangladesh

Security is a prime concern in our day-today life. Everyone wants to be as much secure as&#13;
possible. A smoke detector is a device that detects smoke. typically as an indicator of fire.&#13;
Commercial, industrial, and mass residential devices issue a signal to a fire alarm system.&#13;
while household detectors, known as smoke alarms, generally issue a local audible and/or&#13;
visual alarm from the detector itself. Smoke detectors save thousands of lives each year.&#13;
In fact, it is recommended that every home have one smoke detector per floor. Our&#13;
smoke detectors consist of two basic parts: a sensor to sense the smoke and a very loud&#13;
electronic hom to wake people up &amp; water flow automatically to reduce fire.To design &amp;&#13;
construct a fire alarm system,, first information has been collected from books. Electronic&#13;
circuit of this digital lock has been designed using Op amp &amp; flip flop. Some electronic&#13;
components shops have been visited and the required components have been purchased&#13;
from Patuatuli market, Dhaka. According to the design all those electronic components&#13;
have been populated in printed circuit board by soldering iron.&#13;
The primary objective of this project is to indicate the fire which is control by flip-flop ic&#13;
When smoke pass between light source and ldr it will indicate gradually through led.&#13;
When smoke is low then ledl will be on. As the smoke is high then led 2,3, 4 will be on&#13;
and when led 4 will be on then buzzer will be also on &amp; water flow automatically.Here&#13;
we can use two separate switch to control alarm &amp; water flow.&#13;
After construction this digital lock it has been found to be very accurate and effective&#13;
requiring only Tk 5,000 to purchased it. So this project can be a very economical and&#13;
effective

In high voltage ac system, the system voltage and frequency changes rapidly with the variation of&#13;
load. The reactive power also changes with the variation of load which affbcts the system voltage&#13;
therefore it is necessary to analyze the power system in order to determine system parameters and&#13;
its variation under various load conditions In this thesis work, in order to get an idea about the&#13;
power flow nature of the transmission system of Bangladesh,42 buses are considered. The fast&#13;
decoupled method is used for analyzing the power flow of 42 buses and later MATLAB coding is&#13;
used for determining the buses having problem in reference system voltage. The proposed&#13;
decoupled method is faster and easier than the conventional method. For reactive power&#13;
compensation, the required capacitive or inductive bank is determined by using logical flow chart.&#13;
The size of the reactor bank is calculated by conventional mettrod and the thryristor based&#13;
switching technique is used for connecting the reactor bank with the transmission Iine according to&#13;
the system requirement. Since fast switching is required for maintaining the system voltage&#13;
constant under various load conditions therefore Microcontroller is usecl for controlling the&#13;
switching devices. The Microcontroller provides necessary gate pulses to the Triacs which perform&#13;
the switching action for connecting eitfier the capacitor or inductor bank \Mith the system. The&#13;
connected capacitor and inductor also acts as a harmonic suppressor in case of harmonic effect in&#13;
the transmission line. The proposed methotl of power flow analysis and reactive power&#13;
compensation can be applied io aoy complicated power system network.
