<description>Present Status and Potential Locations of Open Spaces in the Dhaka City Corporation Area: Using GIS Technology
Hoq, Kazi Md. Obaydul
TheJirst planfor the Dhaka cil was prepared in l959.Later Dhaka Metropolitan Development&#13;
Plan (DMDP) was approved in 1997, and pravided the planning policv guidelinefor Dhaka.&#13;
Open space is the lungs oJ-any ciQ. It is alread.v- recognized that Dhaka has lack of open space&#13;
which has negative impact on public health, ecolopy and socieQ. Many problem,s have been&#13;
found during deal and conyersation v,ith concernecl authority to manage this open space&#13;
properly. In managing the parks and playgrounds tlte concerned authorities are often&#13;
confronted with insfficient finance and shortage of trained personnel. There is also lack oJ&#13;
proper co-ordination amottg organizations and institutions ancl Ltsers respotlsible .for the&#13;
eJfective operation and maintenance of these open spaces. In this study, an invetiot'v o.l'existitg&#13;
open spaces is preparedfrom GIS data andfield obsenation. Related data oJ evety existirtg&#13;
open space is collected to prepare a GIS based database. Statistical and spatial analvsis is&#13;
perfbrmed to derive the status oJ open spaces based on dffirent parameters. Opinions have&#13;
been collected from a wide varieQ of people such as users, tlotlLtsers ancl experts to identif'&#13;
problems related to open space creation, management cmd maintenance. The presertt&#13;
investigation also reveals that the enhancement of the use oJ' diJJbrent neighborhood,&#13;
intermediate and large-scale parks &amp; playground in Dhaka City Corporation area tould&#13;
require adequate sec:urity, better maintenance and elJicient management, landscape&#13;
development and treatment, various J'acilities for children. At present the securitv- and better&#13;
maintenance are required to improve the number of increasing visits of the people.

<title>Effect of Moving Surface on Aerodynamic Characteristics in NACA0012 Airfoil</title>
<link>http://suspace.su.edu.bd/handle/123456789/83</link>
<description>Effect of Moving Surface on Aerodynamic Characteristics in NACA0012 Airfoil
Islam, Md. Sadiqui; Hakim, Shaik Merkafur; Ali, Mohammad
This study focuses on the elfects of moving surface on aerodynamics cltaracteristics in I{ACA&#13;
0012 airfbil through numerical simulation. Ty,o particular cases are considered: (i) Single&#13;
moving iur/ace (ii) Doubte moving surJace. Wen 'single moving surfoce' is considered, onll&#13;
one nnving surface of l0% of the chortl length(c) is placed at upper surface of the airfoil&#13;
starting/rim 0.05c to 0.15c. Wen 'double moving surface' is considered, one moving surfoce&#13;
of 1 0% of the chorcl length is placed at upper surface at position starting from 0.05c to 0 l 5c&#13;
antl the other moving surface of sarne size is placed at lower surface at same positiott.&#13;
Momentum injection into the flow .field moves the point of boundary layer separation in the&#13;
vicinie of trailing edge o.f the airfoil. By momentum injection through single moving sudace&#13;
with the surface velocity tw,ice the .free stream velocity and.for dffirent angle of attack, it is&#13;
possible to reduce the average drag coefficient by 23.9%, compared with no moving surface.&#13;
-For &#13;
the same condition with double moving surface, it is possible to reduce the average dt'ag&#13;
coeficient by 25.9%. For using moving surface, boundary-layer separation is delayed along&#13;
thi chord length on the upper sudace of the airfoil. The value of lift coelficient increases slightly&#13;
for moving surface. For single and double moving surface, averdge increment of lift to drag&#13;
ratio qre 37.3% and 410% respectively.

<title>SNR Estimation Technique of the AWGN Channel by Second and Fourth-Order Moments (fufrMt)</title>
<link>http://suspace.su.edu.bd/handle/123456789/75</link>
<description>SNR Estimation Technique of the AWGN Channel by Second and Fourth-Order Moments (fufrMt)
Rahman, Md. Habibur
The goal is to Jind the "best" estimate of the SI{R in a digital receiver with the lea.st cost.&#13;
Generalll,, SNR estimates are generated by averaging obser,*able properties o.f the received&#13;
signal over a number o.f symbols. The performances of various signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)&#13;
estimation techniques reported in the literatttre are compared to identify the "best" estimator.&#13;
The SlrlR estimators are investigated b.v the computer simulation of baseband binary phase shift keying (PSK) signals in real additive white Gaussian noise (A't4rcl'{) and baseband M-ary&#13;
PSK signals in complex Additive white Gaussian noise (AWGI'|). Some known estimator&#13;
structltres are modified to perform better on the channel of interest. lt investigates, therefore,&#13;
both types of estimators and quantifies by example the improvement in performance achievable&#13;
by using known data rather than error-corruptecl recovered data. Estimator structures for&#13;
cotnplex channels are examined.

<title>The Influence of Balance of Payments and Balance of Trade on Exchange Rate in Developing Countries of Asia: A Case Study of Bangladesh, Pakistan and lndia</title>
<link>http://suspace.su.edu.bd/handle/123456789/74</link>
<description>The Influence of Balance of Payments and Balance of Trade on Exchange Rate in Developing Countries of Asia: A Case Study of Bangladesh, Pakistan and lndia
Rashidin, Md. Salamun; Ullah, Irfan; Jehangir, Mahad
The exchange rate is a main dynamic of balance of payment. The balance of payment is&#13;
bookkeeping of all the transactions made in home ancl foreign. If exchange rate oJ'a home&#13;
coutltt? represents a weaker currency it will have positively aJfect the on the balance of&#13;
paymenL A stronger home currency will result deficit balance of payment. Imports of Capital&#13;
goods and export of primary goods i.e. case o.f developing countries, it will negative elfect on&#13;
balance of payment. This ,study was conducted to check the relationship among exports, import,&#13;
copital goods, consttmption, m.onufacturing, oil prices, balance of trade and exchange rate,&#13;
balance of payment. In the perspective of developing economies of Pakistan, India and&#13;
Bangladesh. It was found that this relationship was dffirent in above mentioned countries i.e.&#13;
in case of Bangladesh the predictor and response variable shows the strong positive regression&#13;
relation while in case of rest of the economies there was dffirent result. Some of predictors&#13;
shows weaker regres sion relationship of variables.
