The aim of this experimental work was the investigation of possibilities of utilization of
homogenous tiles as coarse aggregate for new building structures. The property of
aggregate, such as specific gravity, absorption capacity was tested. 50-cylinder concrete
specimens of diameter 100 mm & height 200 mm were made with water cement ratio.
Concrete specimens were tested at 14 & 28 days for compressive strength, tensile
strength. The selected mix proportion is 1:1.5:3(cement: fine aggregate: coarse aggregate)
by volume.
To make a comparison between the properties of concrete made with stone chips and
concrete made with 0%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 30% replacement of coarse aggregate by tiles
chips
