Transformers of substation are one of the most important equipment in the power system network. Because of a large number of transformers and various components over a wide area in power systems, data acquisition, condition monitoring, automatic controlling are important issues. The project aims to design a monitoring and protection system for the transformer with the help of GSM technology. The present monitoring system requires manpower which is time-consuming and it is difficult to predict the occurrence of faults. In this project, we designed a system that continuously monitors the transformer parameters such as load current, voltage, and oil temperature with the help of sensors. These values are displayed continuously on the LCD. If any abnormalities occur in the transformer then the relay tripping system is active, and an alert message with the parameter values are sent to the monitoring center using the GSM module which is integrated with the Arduino board. This system will help the transformer to operate smoothly and identify problems before any catastrophic failureen_US
