dc.description.abstract | Concrete construction is becoming increasingly complex and the importance of producing
structures that are both cost effective and durable has never been higher. Many experimental
works have performed to determine the compressive strength of different types of cement. The
objectives of the study are to determine the compressive strength of concrete by using two
different types of Cement for grades M15. The Materials used for the experiment are OPC &
PCC Cement, LC Black stone, Sylhet sand and local Sand. The mass of the specimens was
recorded carefully. For 7 days, the values of compressive strength of concrete for OPC 13.57
Mpa and 11.87 Mpa for Sylhet Sand and local Sand respectively of grade M15 and the values
of compressive strength of concrete for PCC 9.07 Map and 6.17 Mpa for Sylhet Sand and local
Sand respectively of grade M15. For 28 days, the values are 26.67 Mpa and 18.00 Mpa for
Sylhet Sand and local Sand respectively for the same types of cements for OPC and the values
are 22.08 Mpa and 11.04 Mpa for Sylhet Sand and local Sand respectively for the same types
of cements for PCC of grade M15. For 28 days, the highest compressive strength of the concrete
found 26.67 Mpa for OPC with Sylhet Sand of M15 and the lowest compressive strength is
11.04 Mpa for PCC with local Sand of grade M15. The compressive strength of OPC cement
was better than the PCC cement for the grade M15. | en_US |
