dc.description.abstract | This project focuses on the design and implementation of an Automatic Mechanical Garage
Door system using an Arduino-based control unit. The primary objective is to automate the
opening and closing of a garage door while ensuring safety, efficiency, and ease of use. The system
is powered by a DC 12V 750 RPM geared motor, which drives the garage door through a GT2
timing belt and pulley mechanism. An Arduino Uno serves as the central controller, interfacing
with components such as the IR obstacle avoidance sensor to prevent collisions and limit switches
to manage the door's positions. Additional components, including a micro metal gear servo motor,
power adapters, and a lead screw assembly, ensure smooth operation and precise control. The
system is designed to be user-friendly and can be operated manually via a rocker switch or
remotely via a wireless interface. This solution enhances convenience, minimizes human
intervention, and provides a reliable automation solution for residential garage doors. | en_US |
