Design, Construction and Performances Study of a Portable Jib Crane Using Hand Winch.

Abstract

This research investigates the design, analysis, and optimization of a portable crane. The focus is on enhancing the crane's structural integrity, load-bearing capacity, and ease of assembly and disassembly. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques are employed to simulate the crane's behaviour under various loading conditions, allowing for the identification of critical stress points and potential failure modes. To optimize the crane's design, a multi-objective optimization approach is adopted, considering factors such as weight, strength, and cost. The optimization process involves the use of genetic algorithms to explore a wide range of design parameters and identify the optimal solution. The findings of this research contribute to the development of safer, more efficient, and cost-effective portable cranes. The optimized designs can be used to guide the manufacturing process and improve the performance of portable cranes in various applications, such as construction, manufacturing, and logistics.
