Supply Chain Management Practices of Apex Holdings Limited

Abstract

Apex Holdings Limited (AHL) is a holding company for the management of a wide range of manufacturing and export-oriented enterprises, ranging from Frozen & Convenience Foods, Textiles & Apparels, and Chemicals & Agro businesses. The company was formed and registered in Bangladesh in 1998. The sponsors of AHL had set up its first export-oriented manufacturing enterprise in 1980 and have ever since grown into a sizable group of companies. As the number of companies under the management increased, the need for a management company to facilitate coordination and to maintain control over the individual company became necessary. I preferred this attachment in Apex Holdings Limited (AHL), which is a 100% export oriented garments industry. It is well planned and equipped garment, inspection firms and merchandising unit. It is fully approved by several multinational inspection firms. This report is intended to explain the whole Supply Chain Process of Apex Holdings. Here we firstly tried to find the current practices of supply chain on the first part of the report. This analysis emphasizes on the major aspects of supply chain within a country which are Supply Chain Strategy, Sourcing and Procurement, Material Management, Manufacturing and Quality Control, Logistics and transportation. We have arranged them as per information could be gathered from both inside and outside of the company. After the analysis this report focuses on the findings of the analysis. A SWOT analysis is there to guide through the findings of the analysis. At the end few steps of recommendations are suggested in order to indicate a greater future for the company.
