    Abstract
The Electromagnetic Braking System (EMBS) is an advanced braking technology that uses electromagnetic force to decelerate or stop a vehicle without mechanical friction. Unlike traditional braking systems that rely on physical contact between brake pads and rotors, EMBS operates through the interaction of magnetic fields generated by electromagnets and the metallic wheel or disc. When current flows through the electromagnet, it creates a magnetic field that induces eddy currents in the rotating disc, producing a resistive force that slows the motion. This contactless mechanism reduces wear and tear, enhances braking response, and improves system lifespan. EMBS is widely used in electric trains, trams, and some heavy vehicles where precise and smooth braking is essential. It also enhances safety by reducing the risk of brake failure due to overheating or mechanical degradation. As transportation systems evolve, electromagnetic braking offers a reliable and efficient alternative to conventional braking technologies.
