dc.description.abstract | This research paper is written on the topic of “Legal Mechanisms of River Protection under
Statutory Provisions and Their Loopholes: A Critical Analysis”. This critical analysis explores
the legal frameworks designed to protect rivers through various statutory provisions. While
acknowledging the strengths of existing mechanisms, such as water pollution laws, quality
standards, environmental impact assessments, buffer zone regulations, international treaties,
community participation, and enforcement measures, the study unveils significant loopholes and
challenges hindering their effectiveness. Weak enforcement, outdated standards, insufficient
monitoring, and political interference are identified as common issues. The paper underscores the
importance of addressing these shortcomings to enhance the protection of rivers, emphasizing
the need for continuous adaptation to emerging challenges, community involvement, and
international cooperation. The findings contribute to the ongoing discourse on environmental
law, offering insights into potential improvements for a more robust and sustainable legal
framework for river protection. | en_US |
