dc.description.abstractWomen's legal rights are one of the most significant determinants of their status. Positive discrimination in favor of women under the constitution and other statutory provisions Bangladesh perspective. The shortcomings and ineffectiveness of laws, women's inability to access legal proceedings, the traditional and cultural negative views about women's rights, the absence of an accountable and transparent government, the expensive and time consuming judicial process, the lack of an efficient judiciary, and other socio-ecomic reasons. The core theme of the thesis concentrates on the shortcomings and ineffectiveness of laws, although viewing them within the context of those other factors. To signify the 'ineffectiveness of laws', emphasis is basically placed on the administrative and judicial approaches in the country to achieve the underlying objectives of law concerning women's rights in pertinent areas. Gender discrimination has been a persistent issue globally, impeding the progress of women and hindering the development of societies. This term paper aims to examine the role of women in development indicators in Bangladesh, a country where gender disparities have historically been prevalent. By analyzing various social, economic, and educational indicators, this paper highlights the challenges faced by women in Bangladesh and explores the impact of gender discrimination on their empowerment and participation in development processes. Additionally, it discusses the efforts made by the government and civil society organizations to address these issues and offers recommendations for further improvement.en_US
