Third gender community is one of the most deprived communities not only in Bangladesh but also in the world. Third gender rights are heavily suppressed in Bangladesh. Due to the traditional mentality of the predominantly conservative Bangladeshi society, negative attitudes towards those in the third gender community are high. Objectives of the study are to highlight the challenges of third gender (hijra) in Bangladesh, assess the international and domestic legal protection regarding third gender rights and identify the impediments on their rights. Only secondary sources have been used during the time of the study. This paper has identified numerous encounters regarding third gender rights in Bangladesh. In last stage of the paper it offers a few suggestions that might help to bring about some changes.en_US
