Training and Development Practices of Medical Devices Industry in Bangladesh: A Case Study on JMI Group
Abstract
Managing effectively is often based upon the ability of the manger to identify the work
to be performed, to delegate work to others, and to control its progress and
accomplishment.
This effort requires the definition of the various tasks, duties, responsibilities, and
interrelationships of all the members of the work group. Job Descriptions are tools to
accomplish these definitions. Further, the operation of any organizational unit can be
improved by using job descriptions for assigning responsibility, delegating authority,
and identifying individual or collective duties.
JMI Group design the Job Description considering it’s a key tool of HR functions. The
job description as part of Job Analysis is making horizontal and vertical relationship
between all employee and employer which drives to do the right job by the right person
at right time.
The topic of my project “Modernization of Job Description for all Benchmark
Companies under JMI Group” was really interesting but not many thing was to do for
up gradation. The key part I made is direct interviewing between Appraiser and
Appraise which results the real findings of Key Job areas of each and every positions.
The fact is with many common tools of management, job descriptions have their
limitation and imperfections. The utility should always be examined against the purpose
and for which they have been developed. And thus the modernization comes again.
I hope that my report will present and put a minimum through idea on my project. Any
inconvenience is really of my ignorance.
