Innovative Design and Implementation of SU CampusZone: A Secure Academic Collaboration Platform for Students.
Abstract
In today's digital era, students often face challenges when seeking academic help through large-scale social media platforms such as Facebook Page, Facebook Group, Messenger, WhatsApp Group, Instagram Group and others. Posts are frequently lost amidst unrelated content, making it difficult to find timely and relevant responses. This project addresses these issues by developing a dedicated web and mobile platform tailored specifically for student communities. Inspired by Stack Overflow but focused exclusively on our institution, this platform facilitates easy interaction among students, allowing them to post academic queries, share solutions, and engage in productive discussions. The platform, named SU CampusZone, features a user-friendly interface with a personalized newsfeed, enabling students to post questions, share media (images and videos), and interact with posts through comments, likes, and edits. A secure login and profile management system ensures privacy and data protection, with high-level security protocols in place to safeguard user information. The website and mobile application are built using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap for the frontend, Django and Django Rest Framework for the backend, SQLite3 as the database, and REST APIs for efficient communication. By creating a localized, secure, and focused platform, this project aims to enhance collaboration within student communities and provide a reliable space for academic problem-solving.
