| dc.description.abstract | This internship report is based on my practical experience at the United Nations Development
Programme (UNDP) under the Livelihoods Improvement of Urban Poor Communities
Project (LIUPCP), with a particular focus on the role of Management Information System
(MIS) in project implementation and monitoring. The report has been prepared as a partial
requirement for the completion of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program
at Sonargaon University.
The LIUPCP project aims to improve the living standards of urban poor communities in
Bangladesh through sustainable livelihood opportunities, social inclusion, and community
empowerment. As part of the internship, I was assigned to observe, learn, and contribute to the
MIS unit, which plays a vital role in collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing projectrelated
data to support decision-making and ensure transparency.
During my internship, I was engaged in several activities, including data entry, database
management, preparing reports, and supporting monitoring tasks. These activities enhanced
my knowledge of data management, information systems, reporting techniques, and
project monitoring frameworks. I also gained insights into how MIS contributes to the
effective management of development projects by ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and
accountability.
The report highlights my learning outcomes, practical challenges, and the professional skills I
acquired. It also reflects how academic knowledge in Management Information Systems can
be applied in real-world development settings.In conclusion, this internship experience has significantly enriched my professional skills,
enhanced my analytical capabilities, and deepened my understanding of the role of MIS in
development organizations like UNDP. I believe the knowledge and skills acquired during this
period will be highly valuable for my future career in business administration and development
