    Abstract
Concrete is a mixture of cement, sand and stone chips in some specified proportion which is generally used for R.C.C and C.C. We have worked on a comparative study about the effect of membrane curing of concrete. Firstly, 36 concrete cylinders of 4 x 8 inch were made and twelve of them were cured continuously in the bathtub. Half of them 7days and rest of them for 28 days. Another twelve of the cylinders was covered with jute membrane like the local construction side and cured 2 hours to 3-hour intervals. Rest of them without any covering cured 2 hours to 3-hour intervals. Mixing and curing water is one of the components required, and it should be suitable for producing concrete. curing is essential if concrete is to perform the intended function over the design life of the structure while excessive curing time may lead to the escalation of the construction cost of the project unnecessary delays. The new tread of using high strength concrete in construction has caused a need for the use of 4 x 8 in. Cylinders for assurance testing. A controlling factor that affects the curing of specimen that can be tested in compression machine is the strength of the concrete on evaluation. In this study, it is observed that the 1.5% percentage admixture with 0.325 water cement ratio gave better compressive strength value (20.17 MPa) for 7 days test. and (25.98 MPa) for 28 days test. The study we can see that using admixture to increase the workability of concrete and reducing the water to cement ratio increases the compressive strength of concrete.
