Green Human Resource Management Practices in Bangladesh: A Case Study on PeopleScape Ltd.
Abstract
This report, titled “Green Human Resource Management Practices in Bangladesh: A Case
Study on PeopleScape Ltd.” presents a comprehensive analysis of how PeopleScape Ltd. a
forward-thinking HR consultancy in Bangladesh, integrates environmental responsibility into its
human resource management strategies. As sustainability becomes a global priority,
Peoplescape has embraced Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM) by adopting
eco-friendly practices such as paperless operations, remote work, green training programs, and
sustainability-focused performance goals. While Green HRM remains a relatively new concept
in Bangladesh, the company's efforts demonstrate that environmentally conscious HR practices
are both practical and impactful. Drawing on interviews, observations, and internal data, the
study finds that these green initiatives enhance employee morale, strengthen the company's
public image, and improve operational efficiency. At the same time, challenges such as limited
resources and the need for stronger policy support are acknowledged. Overall, PeopleScape Ltd.
serves as a promising example for small and medium-sized enterprises aiming to align human
resource practices with sustainability goals, showing that meaningful change often begins with
small, intentional steps led by HR. The findings of this case study offer valuable insights not
only for HR professionals but also for policymakers and business leaders looking to promote
sustainability in Bangladesh’s corporate landscape. As environmental concerns continue to rise,
adopting Green HRM may become not just a choice, but a necessity for future-ready
organizations. Peoplescape’s journey highlights the growing need for a mindset shift—from
short-term gains to long-term environmental stewardship. The study also calls for greater
collaboration between the private sector, government bodies, and educational institutions to
build awareness, develop green skills, and create supportive policies that can drive widespread
adoption of Green HRM across industries in Bangladesh.
