“General Banking Practices of Jamuna Bank PLC-A Case Study on Kachpur Branch.”
Abstract
In the last semester of BBA Program, I was sent to Jamuna Bank Ltd (JBL) to have a
practical exposure on banking activities under the program “General Banking Practices of
Jamuna Bank Limited-A Study on Katchpur Branch, Dhaka”. A Bank is an economic
institution whose main aim is to earn profit through exchange of money & credit instruments
by providing satisfactory services to the customers. It is a service oriented as well as profit
oriented organization. To perform those two functions simultaneously, the Bank divides its
operation mainly in three parts- General Banking, Loan and Advances, and Foreign
Exchange. Bank also invests their money into different financial security and also in different
types of project to diversify the risk and getting more profit.
The internship is a kind of on the job training. Students get an idea about the organization
through working in an organization. In chapter one discussed the organization details like
company profile, mission, vision, and objective of Jamuna Bank Ltd (JBL). Then the
department of the organization, details of the service line, operation details and CSR activity.
My job responsibility during my internship period and the function of my department have
included in chapter two. There are Five parts of the General Banking (Introduction,
Organizational profile, Internship Position & Duties, Analysis of General Banking
Operations, Recommendation & Conclusion)
