| dc.description.abstract | This internship report titled “Credit Risk Management of Southeast Bank Limited” has been
prepared as a partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Business
Administration (BBA). The primary objective of the report is to analyze the credit risk management
system, policies, and practices followed by Southeast Bank Limited. The report is mainly based on
secondary data, including annual reports of Southeast Bank Limited, Bangladesh Bank guidelines,
relevant journals, textbooks, and online resources. Some practical insights have also been gathered
through observation and discussion with bank officials during the internship period.
The study discusses the concept of credit risk, principles of credit risk management, credit
appraisal procedures, risk grading systems, and preventive measures against non-performing loans
(NPLs). The analysis reveals that Southeast Bank Limited follows a structured and systematic
credit risk management process in line with Bangladesh Bank regulations. The bank maintains a
comparatively low level of non-performing loans, indicating effective monitoring and recovery
mechanisms.
However, the report also identifies certain limitations such as time constraints, restricted access to
confidential data, and reliance on secondary information. Based on the findings, several
recommendations have been proposed to enhance credit risk monitoring, diversification of loan
portfolios, and technological advancement. Overall, the report concludes that Southeast Bank
Limited has a sound credit risk management framework, but continuous improvement and strict
compliance are essential to cope with the dynamic banking environment. | en_US |
