“External Audit Practice in Malek Siddiqui Wali Chartered Accountants”
Abstract
This report summarizes my three-month apprenticeship at Malek Siddiqui Wali Chartered
Accountants, where I gained practical experience in “External Audit Practice in Malek Siddiqui
Wali Chartered Accountants” within a dynamic professional environment. During this period, I
worked closely with the Audit and Advisory team under the guidance of senior professionals,
including Fazle Rabbi Pathan, Senior Manager of the Audit and Advisory Department.
The primary focus of my apprenticeship was on “External Audit Practice in Malek Siddiqui Wali
Chartered Accountants”, where I assisted in reviewing financial statements, assessing internal
controls, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and international standards.
My responsibilities included performing substantive audit procedures, reconciling financial data,
and documenting findings in accordance with MSW's rigorous quality standards.
This apprenticeship provided me with invaluable insights into the audit process, from planning
and execution to the preparation of audit reports. I developed a deeper understanding of
International Standards on Auditing (ISAs), enhanced my analytical skills, and honed my ability
to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The exposure to real-world audit scenarios
also bridged the gap between academic learning and professional practice.
Throughout my tenure, I gained hands-on experience with audit tools and methodologies, which
strengthened my technical competencies. Moreover, the supportive and collaborative working
environment at MSW allowed me to build effective communication and problem-solving skills.
This report encapsulates the key learnings, challenges, and achievements from my apprenticeship,
alongside an analysis of how this experience has contributed to my personal and professional
growth. It concludes with recommendations to further enhance the efficiency of the audit process,
reflecting on the value of robust quality control and continuous improvement in assurance services.
