This thesis investigates how transportation logistics impacts supply chain efficiency in Bangladesh's Ready-Made Garment (RMG) industry, which generates over 80% of the nation's export earnings. Core Objectives are: Analyze the relationship between transportation logistics and supply chain management in the RMG sector. Identify real-time obstacles such as port congestion, road maintenance issues, and lead time delays. Determine the most efficient transportation modes to ensure on-time delivery and reduce costs. Key Findings are: Infrastructure: 70% of respondents view logistics as vital for RMG development, yet 50% believe national highways are poorly maintained. Mode Preference: 60% of participants favor road transport over rail or water due to its ease of development and current accessibility. Logistics Management: 70% of companies handle transportation internally, though 40% acknowledge that Third-Party Logistics (3PL) could improve supply chain maintenance. The study concludes that improving land logistics is essential for the RMG sector to remain globally competitive as the market shifts toward "fast fashion". It recommends government-led infrastructure investment, such as urban logistics villages, and the adoption of advanced service frameworks like "Quick Response" to minimize operational costs and lead times.en_US
