HUMAN RESOURCE PRACTICES IN BANKING SECTOR OF BANGLADESH : A STUDY ON SONALI BANK LIMITED
Abstract
Human resource management is the management of human resources. It is designed to
maximize employee performance in service of an employer's strategic objectives. HR is
primarily concerned with the management of people within organizations, focusing on
policies and on systems. This study was conducted as a part of RMBA program in order to
gain some practical knowledge about Human Resource Management. Basically core Human
Resource Management functions of Sonali Bank Limited was evaluated and observed during
the period of internship. Human Resource management practice in Sonali Bank limited has
both positive and negative side. The positive one is SBL provide different training programs
to develop employee from time to time and it has well established recruitment and
compensation management system. The negative one is SBL is too much slow to delivery
service to its customer and the selection process is lengthy which create loop hole in
recruitment process.
As an Intern, I had the opportunity to do the different types of tasks under Sonali Bank
Limited. During the internship period, I have used my observations and gained knowledge
which will help me in future surely.
