White-collar crime has emerged as a significant challenge in modern societies, particularly in developing countries like Bangladesh. These crimes, committed by individuals in positions of power, trust, or professional authority, have severe implications for economic stability, governance, and public trust. This thesis examines the nature, causes, and impact of white-collar criminality in Bangladesh from legal, governance, and enforcement perspectives. It analyses the existing legal framework, including anti corruption laws, financial regulations, and cybercrime statutes. The study also evaluates the role of key institutions such as the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Bangladesh Bank, Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), and law enforcement agencies. The study also identifies key obstacles in the investigation, prosecution and prevention of white-collar crimes, including institutional weaknesses, political influence, lack of coordination, and procedural delays. Finally, the study proposes pragmatic recommendations to strengthen legal reforms, governance mechanisms and enforcement capacity to effectively combat white-collar crimes in Bangladesh.en_US
