dc.description.abstractThe development of a society is significantly dependent on the availability of healthy water. But presently like all the other parts of the world, Bangladesh is facing increasing scarcity of water resources. In this situation, sustainable management of freshwater can be ensured by the utilization of alternative water sources. As Bangladesh is privileged by a huge quantity of rainwater annually throughout the country, rainwater collecting can be the most potential alternative water supply option for Bangladesh. In this approach, a system for collecting rainwater is developed. Here microcontroller is used for automatic controlling of the system to get suitable water in an easier way where two separate reservoirs are used for drinking water and general-purpose water. To execute this system more adequately and sustainably some recommendations have been also made as future steps.en_US
