Inventory Management Practices in Supply Chain Management: A Case Study on “GMS Composite Knitting Industries Ltd
Abstract
This thesis investigates the supplier selection criteria in sustainable supply chains within the
Garments manufacturing industry, with a focus on GMS Composite Knitting Ind. Ltd. The
study assesses how supplier selection impacts operational efficiency, product quality, and
competitiveness in the Garments sector. As the demand for Garments continues to rise,
driven by increasing global needs, effective supplier selection has become crucial for
maintaining competitiveness and ensuring high-quality products in this international market.
The study begins by exploring the theoretical framework surrounding supplier selection and
supply chain management. Key concepts from established literature, such as supplier
selection and supplier evaluation, are examined. The research methodology adopts a case
study approach, focusing on garment manufacturing companies in Bangladesh. Data
collection involved interviews with industry professionals, as well as an analysis of supplier
records and performance metrics.
