dc.description.abstractThis thesis delves into the promotional strategies employed by Urmi Group, founded in the 1980s, is a leading conglomerate in Bangladesh, specializing in textile manufacturing and readymade garment (RMG) production. With a workforce exceeding 16,800 employees and a daily production capacity of 150,000 apparel pieces, the group has established a robust presence in the global textile industry. In 2024, Urmi Group reported an annual turnover of approximately US$ 250 million Core Business Segments Textile Manufacturing : Urmi Group's textile division, Fakhruddin Textile Mills Ltd., operates state-of-the-art facilities producing a diverse range of fabrics, including denim, knits, woven fabrics, and home textiles. The division is recognized for its commitment to quality and innovation. Apparel Production : The group's apparel division manufactures a variety of garments, including seamless athleisure wear, catering to renowned international brands such as H&M, Zara, Primark, Puma, and Decathlon. Notably, Urmi Group operates one of the largest seamless knitting facilities in Bangladesh, producing up to 700,000 units per month. Innovation and Technology : Urmi Group has been at the forefront of technological advancements in the textile industry. In 2023, Fakhruddin Textile Mills Ltd. received the 'Best Innovation – Apparel and Fashion' award at the Bangladesh Innovation Awards for its 'ERP Integrated RFID Based Inventory & Production Management System.' The group also earned an 'Honorable Mention' for its 'Seamless Garments' innovation. These accolades underscore Urmi Group's commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology into its operations. Sustainability Initiatives : Urmi Group is dedicated to sustainable practices in its operations. The group has implemented an anaerobic biological effluent treatment plant (ETP) and rooftop solar panels at its facilities.
