| dc.description.abstract | Recruitment and selection play a critical role in ensuring organizational effectiveness by
attracting and hiring competent employees. In Bangladesh’s rapidly expanding e-commerce
sector, efficient human resource practices are essential to remain competitive and sustain
growth. This case study focuses on the recruitment and selection process of Daraz
Bangladesh Ltd., one of the leading e-commerce companies in the country. Daraz
Bangladesh Ltd., a subsidiary of the Alibaba Group, has been operating in Bangladesh since
2015 and has grown significantly over time. To support its large-scale operations, the
company follows a structured recruitment and selection process to hire skilled employees
across various departments such as operations, logistics, technology, customer service, and
marketing. The recruitment process involves both internal and external sources, including
online job portals, employee referrals, social media platforms, and campus recruitment. The
selection process typically includes CV screening, written or technical assessments, multiple
interview stages, and final managerial approval. The study finds that while Daraz Bangladesh
emphasizes merit-based hiring and competency evaluation, challenges such as lengthy hiring
procedures, high competition for skilled talent, and employee turnover remain. The findings
of this case study provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of Daraz Bangladesh’s
recruitment and selection practices and offer guidance for improving human resource
management in Bangladesh’s e-commerce industry | en_US |
