| dc.description.abstract | In today‟s competitive banking sector of Bangladesh, United Commercial Bank PLC has
established itself as one of the leading and reputable financial institutions. The continuous
growth and success of this bank largely depend on its effective human resource
management practices, especially its training and development programs. These programs
play a vital role in enhancing employee performance, improving job efficiency, and
reducing employee turnover by increasing job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
Training and development are considered essential components for any modern banking
organization, as they help employees acquire necessary skills, adapt to changing market
demands, and improve overall productivity. United Commercial Bank PLC places
significant importance on this aspect and maintains a structured and systematic training
process. The Human Resource Department of the bank is actively involved in designing and
implementing various training programs, guided by experienced and qualified trainers.
This report is based on the training and development practices of United Commercial Bank
PLC, with a particular focus on practical experience gained during my internship period.
The study was conducted primarily at the Dhanmondi Branch of the bank. For data
collection, I used a questionnaire survey among employees, along with information gathered
from both the branch office and the head office. In addition, relevant secondary data were
collected from online sources and organizational documents to support the analysis.
The findings of the study indicate that United Commercial Bank PLC is highly committed
to improving its training and development system and considers it a strategic investment for
long-term organizational success. The bank is also careful in selecting skilled trainers and
regularly evaluates training participants to ensure effectiveness. Based on the analysis, some
recommendations have been provided at the end of the report, which may help further
enhance the quality and effectiveness of its training and development programs in the
future. | en_US |
